historyThe history of the Swiss Cheese and Chocolate Co. is tightly knit with the life of company owner and roadlegend Bobby A. Leiser. As a music-lover he realized early in life that his talent would not suffice for a successfull career on stage as a performing musician, but his love for the art and especially the rock'n'roll way of life fascinated him in such a way that at every cost he set out to find an opportunity to remain an integral part of this incredibly electifying world. The multilingual Mr. Leiser, fluent in French, German, Italian, English and Spanish recognized early that the long term success of a band requires language skilled assistance taking over the communication beyond the technical, geographical and cultural boundaries with the promoters, all of this next to duties such as driver and/or stage technician. Starting in the 60's intricate customs formalities between different countries started complicating many a travelling band's every day life on the road as Bobby A. Leiser stepped in to fill the gap by easily communicating with customs agents in their native languages and providing instruments of all kinds for touring musicians, at the same time making sure that the gear ultimately made it through all bureaucratic barriers and finally onto the stage where it belonged.
With lots of passion and at the time already more than 20 years of experience on the road with such bands as The Rolling Stones, Bad Company, Steppenwolf, Uriah Heep, Procol Harum, ELP, Miles Davis and Duke Ellington to show for, Bobby A. Leiser developed his business to perfection. For decades The Swiss Cheese and Chocolate Co. belongs to the elite group of backline service providers worldwide. Without our passion for music, our solid and reliable service would not be possible; always keeping an eye on the bigger picture without neglecting the importance of the detail. | |
